Itpints is a real-time search engine and one of the first projects we started together. It was originally started by Javier from the real need of following real-time events from different social media sources. When we say real need is because we use it a lot and we found it actually very useful.

After a couple of years having this product live, it turned that we couldn’t handle the daily request we were getting. Not only from the website but also from the open API. Since we couldn’t generate the revenue to increase our servers at the same time that the number of users we were force to shut it down. But, after almost a year, we decided to re-launch it just for fun. Just because we like it and we have fun with it.

The project consist in making a search to the special engine we built and it triggers at the same time and asymmetrically  one engine per source the user has defined. Returning and processing the latest results matching with the query.

And you may ask, what this could be used for? Wel, we just can tell you what we use for and it may give you some ideas:

1) Following special events realtime such us: Olympics Games, Live Concerts, Keynotes, and may other things.

2) Keep an aye about what people is telling about your company or your product

3) Get informed about news before they’re in the media.

4) Keep an eye about your favorite artist activity.
